Temple History

The temple was established in 1761 AD by Seth Jai Ram (Jeth Ram) Paliwal. According to a popular legend, the magnificent idol of Lord Ganesha was being transported from Mewar (Udaipur). The king had decided that the idol would be installed at the place where the bullock cart carrying it stopped for the first time. When the cart halted at the foot of Moti Dungri Hill, the temple was built there, making it one of Jaipur's most sacred places of worship.

The temple was completed under the supervision of Mahant Shri Shiv Narain Ji, who played an important role in its construction and religious establishment.

About the Temple

The temple is famous for its beautiful marble architecture, peaceful atmosphere, and centuries-old traditions. The idol of Lord Ganesha is believed to be more than 500 years old and is covered with vermilion (Sindoor), which is renewed through traditional rituals known as Chola. A large marble mouse (Mushak), the divine vehicle of Lord Ganesha, is also installed in front of the sanctum.

The temple welcomes devotees from all religions and communities who come seeking blessings for success, prosperity, health, education, business, marriage, and family well-being.

Every Wednesday, considered the most auspicious day for Lord Ganesha, thousands of devotees visit the temple, and a special religious fair is organized.

• Offering the first wedding invitation card to Lord Ganesha before marriage ceremonies.

• Celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi with grand religious ceremonies.
• Wednesday Special Darshan and devotional celebrations.

Architecture

The temple beautifully combines traditional Hindu architecture with elements inspired by Rajput, Islamic, and Western architectural styles. Its elegant white marble structure, artistic carvings, and three domes make it one of Jaipur's architectural landmarks. The temple stands beside the famous Moti Dungri Palace, which resembles a Scottish castle.
